What do I need to do with my plates?
Remove your plates. They can be transferred to a new vehicle or surrendered to any vehicle licensing office.
Is there anything else I need to do?
Download the Vehicle Report of Sale form and fill it out. Submit the completed form and $18 fee to any vehicle licensing office by mail or in person within 5 business days of the sale. This process can also be completed online.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
