What do I need to do with my plates?
Remove your plates. You can transfer them to another vehicle or destroy them.
Is there anything else I need to do?
Notify the DMV that your vehicle has been sold using Utah's Motor Vehicle Portal.
Alternatively, you can submit a written notification which must include the vehicle year, make, plate or vehicle identification number, and the owner’s signature by mail to:

Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
