Remove your plates. You can transfer your plates or destroy them.
Is there anything else I need to do?
Complete a Vehicle Transfer Notification form within 30 days from the date of sale to let the DMV know about the change of ownership.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
