What do I need to do with my plates?
Plates should be removed from the vehicle. They can be transferred to a new vehicle or turned in at your local county treasurer's office.
Is there anything else I need to do?
You should report the sale of the vehicle online or complete the Seller's Report of Sale and submit it by mail.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
