South Carolina utilizes electronic titles. If your title is electronic, you will need to obtain a physical copy prior to pickup.

If the vehicle was last titled in South Carolina

  1. Download and fill out the South Carolina Duplicate Title Application
  2. Submit the application
    1. Online
      1. Time frame: 3-5 days
      2. Cost to obtain: $15 (plus additional card payment fees)
    2. In person at the Division of Motor Vehicles
      1. Time frame: 3-5 days (same-day available for an expedite fee)
      2. Cost to obtain: $15 (plus $20 expedite fee)
    3. By mailing the application to:

If the vehicle was last titled outside of South Carolina

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
