What do I need to do with my plates?
Turn in your plates to a local license agency, transfer the plates to a different vehicle, or destroy them.
Is there anything else I need to do?
Complete a Customer Request to Cancel Vehicle Registration form and submit it to the BMV.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
