What do I need to do with my plates?
License plates can be removed and either transferred to a new vehicle or turned over to the DMV.
Is there anything else I need to do?
You must complete a Notice of Transfer and submit it to the County Treasurer’s Office.
You may be eligible for a refund on registration fees if applied for within 60 days of sale.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
