What do I need to do with my plates?
The plates must be removed from the vehicle. They can be transferred to another vehicle through the DMV.
Is there anything else I need to do?
The DMV does not need to be notified when the vehicle is sold.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've taken care of your plates and registration for this state. Once those steps are done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
