What do I need to do with my plates?
Plates should be removed and either kept, transferred to a new vehicle, or surrendered to the DOR.
Is there anything else I need to do?
You will need to cancel your registration online or complete an Application of Voluntary Registration Cancellation and turn it in to the county tag office.
Don't cancel your insurance until you've canceled your registration with the state. Once that's done, contact your insurer to remove the vehicle from your policy.
